Wonder Workshop Children's Museum

Specific Need

The 2023 Grow Green Match Day is in its 11th year!

Wonder Workshop Children’s Museum strives to provide educational enrichment to all youth and families in the Manhattan community. To meet this need we want to purchase a new van to help those who would not otherwise be able to attend the quality programs we have. The new van would allow us to pick up more participants for our Hooked on Clubs (after school program), provide transportation for our Teen Mentors and children who participate in our Discovery Days when school is out of session, and to make sure we can participate in field trips. Activities that introduce youth to our community at large is an integral part of the STEAM and cultural enrichment activities we do at the Wonder Workshop.

Mission

The mission of the Wonder Workshop is to promote education in the arts, sciences, and humanities. Our goal is to develop self-reliant children, families, and community members. Our hands-on activities and exhibits instill a desire for life long learning, recognizing our cultural diversity, and fostering creative potential.

Profile

  • People from all over the Manhattan community worked together to create the Wonder Workshop, which has been in existence since 1995
  • Wonder Workshop is well-known in the community for our "Think Big Summer Camp," which provides STEAM activities for children all throughout the summer
  • Annually, Wonder Workshop has provided access to approximately 1500 youth and their families
