Optimist Clubs are members of the world wide civic organization, Optimist International, whose focus is serving the youth of their own communities. Meeting the needs of young people in communities worldwide, Optimist Clubs have been "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" since 1919. As a civic organization, the goal of all Optimist Clubs is to have a positive impact on the lives of today's youth.

The men and women of Optimist Clubs conduct positive service projects aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. Club members are best known in their communities for their upbeat attitudes. . Since each Club is autonomous and run by members in their community, Optimists have the flexibility to tailor their programs to best serve the local youth.

By believing in young people and empowering them to be the best they can be, Optimist volunteers continually make this world a better place in which to live. Being an Optimist member means volunteering. It means attending club meetings when possible, to meet other members and hear news about the club and organization, and to volunteer your time on various fundraising and youth or civic projects.
