Specific Need

For 46 years, Cornerstone has had the privilege of providing compassionate, professional mental health care to the greater Manhattan community.

Every one of us has either faced a mental health struggle personally or walked alongside someone who has. Loss, anxiety, depression, relationship breakdowns, and overwhelming life circumstances can touch any family, it has touched my family.

However, we have passionately believe when people receive the care they need, suffering is reduced, hope returns, and lives begin to change.

This is why Cornerstone has expanded significantly in recent years. Today, our team includes 22 providers across a wide range of specialties. In 2026, we are on track to deliver more than 15,000 hours of therapy to over 1,200 individuals, a 50% increase from 2025. Last year, we provided more than $31,000 in reduced fees and scholarships.

Yet the need continues to grow. With dramatically rising insurance premiums and changes affecting health coverage, we are seeing even more families who cannot afford insurance at all. Even for those who do have insurance, high deductibles often place therapy out of reach.

Through support of programs like Grow Green Match Day, your generosity makes it possible, now more than ever, for someone to receive care. Your gift helps someone struggling with depression find support, regain a sense of hope, and begin reconnecting with the people and activities that give life meaning, or gives a college student struggling with anxiety the guidance they need to manage stress, pressure, and uncertainty, or helps a couple begin the difficult work of healing and rebuilding trust after infidelity.

It is our policy to provide essential services regardless of the patient’s ability to pay. Discounts are available to individuals without health insurance and are offered based on federal poverty guidelines.
