Specific Need
Our goal is to sponsor every child age 0-5 in our community to receive an age appropriate book mailed to them directly, at their home. With 5,366 eligible children in Riley County and Pottawatomie County funding to sustain the program is currently over $70,000 annually. Your generous gift will ensure we continue to enroll and sustain the program today and into the future!
Your support in action:
Riley County, we have enrolled 2,509 preschoolers and mailed over 65,382 books.
Pottawatomie County, we have enrolled 1,394 preschoolers and mailed over 33,947 books.
- A $30 charitable gift will provide a full year’s worth of monthly books to a child.
- A $120 charitable gift will provide a full year’s worth of books to 4 children.
- A $300 charitable gift will provide a full year’s worth of books to 10 children.

Literacy is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. By ensuring that all children have access to quality early childhood literacy programs, we can empower them to overcome socioeconomic barriers and achieve their full potential.
Profile
What is Imagination Library?
The Imagination Library provides one free book every month to children from birth to age five living in our community. All parents have to do is apply and their eligible child will begin receiving a new book in the mail every month until they turn five.
There are no fees for the families, the books are delivered directly to the child's home, and the child gets to keep them forever.
Why is that important?
• 90% of brain development happens before age 5
• Children reading at grade level by 3rd grade are 4x more likely to graduate high school
• Strong readers grow into a stronger workforce, supporting long-term economic success in our community
