Mission

The purpose of the GMCF Community Arts fund is sustainability and having an impact for decades to come to support public art projects and initiatives in the Greater Manhattan community.  This will ensure a permanent source of funding for the arts in our community.

Profile

The Greater Manhattan Community Foundation is committed to expanding public art in our community.  Our goal is to expand public art projects and opportunities for artists to increase art visibility and public access to art.  Public art has the potential to create a community identity and sense of place that are particularly important for determining where people want to live.  Public art installations bring people together, making art accessible to everyone and inspiring engagement and a sense of belonging to a community.  It forms points of pride and interest for visitors and impacts the beauty and overall feel of a city.  Your support for this fund will help strengthen the number of projects that can be funded in our community and GROW public art to establish an even more unique and culturally active community.
