Specific Need

The funds raised during Grow Green Match Day are used for school operations. These funds help us keep teacher pay competitive, tuitions lower, and enhance our school environment and programs. The current inflationary times have made it more difficult to make ends meet. Given that situation our school Pastor, Fr. Gale, made an appeal during the school’s annual Grandparent’s Day this past March. The appeal was for additional matching donations and the Grandparents came through with $39,050! Hence our Grow Green Match Day Goal of $40,000.

The MCS Grandparent's Day Match is a 100% match up to $39,050 with all proceeds going directly to Manhattan Catholic Schools! For example, if a donor gives a $1,000 gift to MCS during match day, MCS is eligible to receive a 50% match of $500 from the GMCF and an additional $1,000 from the MCS Grandparent’s Day Match. The same Grow Green Match Day Gift rules apply. Gifts between $25 & $1,000 per person will be eligible for a 50% match from the GMCF (up to $15,000) and 100% MCS Grandparent’s Day Match (up to $39,050).

The MCS Grandparent’s Day Match is only available to Manhattan Catholic Schools.

Manhattan Catholic Schools is a parochial Catholic School located in Manhattan, Kansas.

We serve students in grades Pre-K thru 8, mostly from St. Thomas More and Seven Dolors of The Blessed Virgin Mary parishes in Manhattan, but our diverse MCS student body is made up of approximately 300 Catholic and Non-Catholic students from Riley and other surrounding counties and parishes.

• Manhattan Catholic Schools' Pre-School and Pre-Kindergarten programs are certified by the State of Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

Faculty

Manhattan Catholic Schools' teachers hold credentials and are licensed by the state of Kansas State Department of Education. Several MCS teachers also hold advanced degrees and special endorsements.

Parents and Community

MCS has always had a strong parent volunteer program, and we work in close partnership with our families. At MCS, each family agrees to participate in volunteer service per school year. Parent volunteers will generously give countless hours this year to support Manhattan Catholic Schools.
