Specific Need

Optimist Park is a cornerstone of youth recreation in Manhattan, serving hundreds of local children and families each year through T-Ball, softball, and other programs. As part of our mission of “Bringing Out the Best in Kids,” we provide a safe, welcoming space where kids can build confidence, learn teamwork, and enjoy the game—many for the very first time through our free T-Ball program.

Our Optimist Grow Green goal of $15,000 will help support the ongoing upkeep and improvement of Optimist Park. Your donation will directly contribute to maintaining and enhancing this important community space, ensuring it remains safe, accessible, and impactful for local youth and families for years to come.

Mission

The Manhattan Optimist Club is a not-for-profit service organization composed of community involved men and women who have been dedicated to serving the youth of Manhattan Kansas since 1959. Our biggest asset, Optimist Park in Manhattan, is due for significant repairs and upgrades.

Profile

Optimist Clubs are members of the world wide civic organization, Optimist International, whose focus is serving the youth of their own communities. Meeting the needs of young people in communities worldwide, Optimist Clubs have been "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" since 1919. As a civic organization, the goal of all Optimist Clubs is to have a positive impact on the lives of today's youth.
