Specific Need

Founded in 2021, and opening to the public in fall of 2024, the Museum of Art + Light (MoA+L) is a contemporary art museum that explores the limitless convergence of visual art, the creative process and digital technology. Central to our mission is the promotion, understanding, and appreciation of the arts through educational experiences that foster self-reflection, enhance critical and creative thinking, produce emotional responses, promote well-being, and facilitate community and cultural partnerships.

Funds raised through the efforts of Grow Green will continue to support our public arts education programming fund specific to supplies, materials, and transportation for upcoming K-12 group visits—all to ensure a legacy of quality programming for years to come.

Profile

MoA+L believes that 21^st century communication, creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration are at the core of K-12 education. And while adaptive technologies are now a central part of living, learning, teaching, and engaging with our world, opportunities to embrace media arts education in informal settings like museums, will be necessary to help prepare the next generation and advance artistic practice and appreciation, connect scholastic disciplines, while engaging today’s fast pace globally connected society.

Stemming from the MoA+L's collection, the MoA+L team is working to captivate audiences through the presentation of rotating exhibitions featured on three floors. MoA+L’s exhibitions, whether displayed as physical fine art objects in an array of media, or as unique digital immersive experiences inspired by original works of art created by artists past and present, are shown together with narrative context and versatile arts-inspired programming. All exhibitions provide illuminating, multi-sensory experiences that connect and stimulate visitors—families, youth of all ages, artists, community partners, and educators alike to have conversation and make personal meaning.

MoA+L is distinctive, as we are the first contemporary art museum dedicated to presenting rotating immersive multi-media exhibition experiences adjacent to displays of original artworks. The crossover will purposefully explore the intersection of art and technology in their creative practice. Through these experiential spaces, MoA+L invites visitors to become active participants in these captivating artistic processes, fostering a deeper connection between art and the observer, while unleashing the boundless possibilities of art in the digital age.
