At the Crisis Center, Inc., our services are available 24/7, 365 days a year, and are always completely free. We provide a wide-range of services that increase the safety and stability of victims and survivors, including safe shelter.

Residents of our safe shelter receive:

>> A safe place to stay as long as needed while working with our advocates to rebuild their lives.

>> All essential needs are covered—food, toiletries, and daily necessities — at no cost.

>> Comprehensive support to help them regain independence and stability after escaping abuse.

Profile

Based in Manhattan, the Crisis Center, Inc. is one of only 25 accredited domestic violence and sexual assault service organizations in Kansas.

We provide a wide-range of services, including:

24-hour crisis helplines (talk & text)
Crisis intervention
Personal advocacy
Medical advocacy
Court & legal advocacy
Law enforcement response advocacy
Safe shelter
Supportive counseling
Support groups
Child/youth & parent-child advocacy
Community awareness & education

We also administer SafeLine Kansas, the statewide 24/7 crisis helpline dedicated to providing immediate support to Kansans affected by sexual and domestic violence.

Our Impact in 2025:

>> 8,703 bed nights provided to 210 survivors in our shelter
>> 2,967 individuals received services
>> 7,652 hours of services provided
>> 489 on-scene advocacy responses for domestic violence calls with the Riley County Police Department
